Local Government Structural Reform
TODO: Minutes from the SEARTG
The Shires of Beverley, Cunderdin, Quairading, Tammin and York will begin due diligence into a proposed amalgamation after formalising their reform agreement in Perth during local government convention.
The local governments have now officially established a Regional Transition Group which entitles them to State Government funding and support to develop a Regional Business Plan.
The plan will incorporate input from the local residents and will ensure that all necessary information is collated, costed and assessed to enable both local governments and their communities to make an informed decision on their reform options.
Local Government Minister John Castrilli said he was pleased the local governments were considering how reform could benefit their communities by taking a regional approach to planning and actual service delivery.
